When reef fishing in Cornwall, you can expect to encounter a diverse range of fish species. Common catches include pollock, cod, bass, wrasse, and bream, depending on the season and location.

Some reefs may even attract smaller flatfish or unusual species that make the experience unique.

The varied underwater terrain of Cornwall’s coastline provides excellent habitats for fish, offering something exciting for anglers of all levels.

Wreck fishing in Cornwall is most rewarding from late spring to early autumn. During these months, the warmer waters attract species such as pollock, conger eels, ling, and cod.

These fish are drawn to the structures of the wrecks, which provide shelter and feeding opportunities. Summer and early autumn are particularly ideal, as the fish are more active and conditions are usually calmer, making for an enjoyable fishing experience.

We supply all the essential fishing equipment for your trip, including high-quality rods, reels, tackle, and bait, ensuring you have everything you need for a productive day on the water.

If you have your own gear that you’re more comfortable using, you are welcome to bring it along. Our crew will help you set it up and ensure it’s suitable for the type of fishing you’ll be doing.

Shark fishing is open to anglers of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. Our crew provides comprehensive guidance, including how to handle the rod, reel, and bait to attract sharks effectively.

We also offer advice on how to manage the excitement of reeling in a large fish safely and successfully. With the support of our experienced crew, even first-time anglers can enjoy the thrill of shark fishing.

Safety is our top priority on all fishing trips, especially shark fishing. Our vessels are equipped with life jackets, emergency communication devices, and first aid kits. The crew is highly trained to handle large fish and ensure the safety of all participants.

We use specialised equipment, such as heavy-duty rods and reels, to maintain control over the catch and minimise risks. Additionally, we provide a thorough safety briefing before the trip begins, ensuring everyone feels confident and secure.

For reef and wreck fishing trips, you are usually allowed to keep some of your catch, provided it complies with local fishing regulations regarding species and size limits.

Shark fishing, however, is strictly catch and release. This practice helps protect these incredible species and contributes to marine conservation efforts. Our crew is experienced in handling sharks carefully to ensure their safe return to the water after the excitement of the catch.

We offer both half-day and full-day fishing trips to accommodate different schedules and preferences. Half-day trips typically last around 4 hours and are ideal for reef fishing closer to the shore.

Full-day trips, which last 8 hours or more, allow for longer travel times to reach wrecks or deeper waters for shark fishing. Our flexible options ensure you can choose the trip length that suits your level of experience and time available.

Cornish waters are home to several exciting shark species. Blue sharks and porbeagle sharks are the most common catches, particularly during the summer months.

Occasionally, anglers may encounter other species like thresher sharks or even the elusive mako shark. These waters are ideal for shark fishing due to their rich ecosystems, and our crew has extensive knowledge of where and when to find these impressive predators.

Yes, our crew provides full guidance for beginners who want to try wreck fishing. We will help you set up your equipment and demonstrate the best casting and reeling techniques.

We will also explain how to handle different species and ensure you have the confidence to enjoy the experience. Our goal is to make wreck fishing accessible and fun for anglers of all levels.

The distance we travel offshore depends on the type of fishing. Reef fishing is usually closer to shore, within 3–10 miles, where the underwater structures provide ample opportunities for catching a variety of species.

Wreck and shark fishing trips venture further, typically 20–30 miles offshore, to reach deeper waters and larger fish. Our crew ensures every trip is planned with safety and success in mind.

Yes, for safety and comfort, our vessels have a capacity limit. Most boats accommodate between 6 to 12 passengers, depending on the trip type and boat size.

This ensures there’s enough space for everyone to fish comfortably and safely. For private charters, we can adjust the capacity based on your group size and preferences.

We recommend bringing weather-appropriate clothing, including waterproof layers and a hat, as conditions at sea can change quickly.

Sunscreen is essential even on cloudy days, as the sun reflects off the water. Non-slip footwear is a must for safety on the boat. Pack food, snacks, and drinks to keep you energised throughout the trip, especially for full-day excursions.

For safety reasons, we recommend shark fishing trips for participants aged 12 and older. Younger anglers may find reef or wreck fishing trips more suitable, as these are closer to shore and less physically demanding. Our team is happy to advise on the best options for families with children.

Yes, we offer private charters for groups looking for a personalised fishing experience. Private charters allow you to choose the type of fishing, duration, and focus of the trip, whether it’s a family outing, a corporate event, or a day with friends.

If weather conditions are unsuitable for offshore fishing, we prioritise your safety and will either reschedule the trip to another day or provide a full refund. Our team monitors weather forecasts closely to make informed decisions and will communicate any changes to you as early as possible.
